Mrs. Zelma Riddle Perkins, 96, of the Slab Camp Community, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the Life Care Center of Morehead.
She was born on August 22, 1918 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Robert and Alice Foster Riddle.
On January 28, 1939, Zelma married Alvin Perkins, who preceded her in death on July 7, 2005.
Mrs. Perkins was a member of the Church of God, having been a Christian since 1948. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and farming.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Leroy Perkins, a grandson, Matthew Paul Perkins, two brothers, Clifford Bowman and Ernest Riddle and eight sisters, Ocie Brown, Flora Perkins, Gracie Bowman, Thelma Young, Leona Jennings, Nora Pierce, Edith Goodman and Irene Tackett.
Survivors include a son, Paul Perkins and his wife, Lennie, a daughter, Helen Noblett and her husband, Billy Joe all of Clearfield, one granddaughter, Levonda Perkins Thomas-Ingram and her husband, Rob of Clearfield, a great-granddaughter, Shana Cooper and her husband, Josh, a great-grandson, Paul Thomas and his wife, Megan, a great-great-granddaughter, Kylee Cooper, a great-great-grandson to be, Brycen Thomas, one sister, Donna Jean Wallace of Morehead and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 17, 2015 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Brother Gary Madden and Brother Charles Moore officiating.
Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery on Jones Ridge.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
