Wilma McDaniel

Wilma June Mabry McDaniel, 86 of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Kentucky where she had been a resident for several weeks.

She was born March 27, 1935 in Elliott County, Kentucky to the late Cletus and Tennie Goodan Mabry.

June was of the Church of God faith and enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, attending church and bird watching.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey McDaniel, one son, Defford McDaniel, three brothers, Richard Mabry, Jayo  Mabry and Gene Mabry. Three sisters, Betty Porter, Garlene Kiser and Gay Newman. Two grandsons, Kyle Shane McDaniel and Craig Darson McDaniel.

Survivors include five children, Diana (Tom) Cunningham of Belleville, Michigan, Dale (Cathy) McDaniel, Sandy (Junie) Rose and Jack (Heidi) McDaniel all of Olive Hill and Bill (Lyda) McDaniel all of Wallingford. A daughter-in-law, Retha McDaniel of Wallingford.  Two sisters, Rosie Bender of Mansfield, Ohio and Tobia McDonald of Kingsport, Tennessee. Fifteen grandchildren, Tracci, Chris, Chad, Jamie, Wendell, Mitchell, Matthew, Jonathon, Misstie, Joshua, Renna, Amanda, B. J., Maleigh and Breyleigh,  twenty seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday September 30, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Leadingham and Pastor John Bradley officiating.

Burial will follow in the McDaniel Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead will be after 5:00 pm Wednesday.

Pall bearers will be  grandsons, Chris Cunningham, Chad Cunningham, Jamie McDaniel, Wendell McDaniel, Mitchell McDaniel, Matthew Harris, Jonathon Harris, Joshua McDaniel and B. J. McDaniel.
