William O. "Bill" Calvert, Age 75 of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, passed away Wednesday evening October 17, 2007 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after an illness of several weeks. He was born Dec. 10, 1931 in Farmers, Kentucky to the late Frank M. Calvert, Sr. and Frances Armstrong Calvert. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Perry and four brothers, Oscar, Frank, Jr., Malcolm and Willard. Bill retired from the U.S. Postal service after 34 years of service, attended the Morehead First Church of God and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed reading, travel, golf and boating. Survivors include his wife Frankie VanHook Calvert who he married May 7, 1955. Two sons, Bill (Cathy) Calvert of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Joe Mac (Donna) Calvert of Morehead, Kentucky. One daughter, Vicki (Barry) Brinegar of Georgetown, Kentucky. Four Grandchildren, Eric Paxton, Zackary Brinegar, David Calvert and Kelli Calvert Besselman. One Great-Grandson, Wesley Besselman and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, October 20, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor Allan Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Friends may call at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home after 5:00 PM Friday. Serving as pall bearers will be Willard Calvert, Jr., Tommy Calvert, James Calvert, Steve Calvert, Jerry Flannery, and Scott McClain. Honorary pall bearers will be The Retired Rural Mail Carriers.
