Mrs. Vada Francis Dailey Seitz, 84, of Nicholasville, Kentucky formerly of Rowan County, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 in the Hospice Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
She was born on November 29, 1925 on Triplett Creek in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ollie R. and Elma Roberts Dailey.
Mrs. Seitz worked hard as a young woman mostly in fields or helping others with whatever jobs were available. She worked for a time as a waitress and in a couple factories but after marrying William (Bill) Seitz, she became a homemaker and spent many years caring for him and her family the best she could. She raised beautiful gardens, both floral and vegetable; she could outwork people half her age, only slowing down shortly after the death of her husband of 35 years. She was a member of Holly Fork Church of God where her brother, Avery (Buster) Dailey preached until his stroke forced him to retire from preaching. She rejoined again when the church reopened as Holly Fork Freewill Baptist and went for many years more. Although she hadn't been to church in many years she remained a Christian forever. She believed in God her whole life and mentioned in her last months of life that she knew her time was near. Mrs. Seitz wrote both poems and Christian songs that she sang in church. In the seventies, The Morehead News wrote a small piece about her poetry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Phillip G. Wible and William E. Seitz, one daughter, Phyllis Rowena Wible Martin, who passed away on May 21, 1982, one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Martin, two brothers, Avery L. Dailey and Ollie B. Dailey, one sister, Rosetta (Ada) Dailey Adams and four infant brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Justine Wible and her companion, Jon Finley Caudill of Nicholasville and Vada Ann Knipp and her former husband, Johnny H. Knipp of Morehead, one brother, James C. (Dolly) Dailey of Hillsdale, Indiana, one half-brother, Lester Lewis of Fleming County, two sisters, Lenora J. (Joyce) Dailey Anderson of Franklin, North Carolina and Patricia Dailey (Miguel) Rutledge of Port St. Johns, Florida, six grandchildren, William Boone (Sarah) Wible of Nicholasville, Gary Richard Martin of Indianapolis, Indiana, Rebecca Gail (Craig) Whyde of Beech Grove, Indiana, Phillip Andrew (Greta) Martin of Carmel, Indiana, Joshua Harrison (Heather) Knipp of Morehead and Caleb Jared Knipp of Morehead, nine great-grandchildren, Gary Richard Martin II of Indianapolis, Indiana, Amanda Shinn and Brittany Shinn both of Indiana, Terri Lynn Shinn of Beech Grove, Indiana, Andrew Martin, Lauren Martin and Blake Martin all of Carmel, Indiana, Haley McKenna Wible and Warren Boone Wible both of Nicholasville, three step-children and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
