Terry Tackett

Terry Lee Tackett, 64 of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Friday morning March 18, 2022, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia after an illness of several weeks. He was born August 12, 1957, in West Liberty, Kentucky to Dixie Yocum Tackett and the late Winford Owen Tackett.

Terry was a retired carpenter and construction worker and enjoyed dirt bikes, four wheelers, working on vehicles, drag racing, hot rods and was a University of Kentucky Basketball fan.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tiline Mary Drake Tackett, one daughter, Amy Lee Tackett, brothers, Dale Johnson, Larry Dean Tackett, and Steven Allen Tackett.  Also, one sister, Connie Sue Hilterbrand Tackett.

Survivors include his mother, Dixie Yocum Tackett of Wallingford. one son Ben Tackett of Morehead, two step-sons, Bobby Brown (Tina Fraley) of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Dave Brown of Morehead.

Brothers, David (Christine) Tackett of Soldier, Kentucky, Earl (Marlene) Tackett and Daniel (Lisa) Tackett all of Morehead, Bill Tackett, Tim (Sarena Martin) Tackett and Damon Tackett all of Wallingford, Kentucky. Sisters, Freda (Tom) Peck of Korea, Kentucky, Charlotte Conley, Barbara (Jeff Hilterbrand) Tackett and Teresa Tackett all of Wallingford and a sister-in-law, Patty Johnson.

Grandchildren, Bobby Ethan Brown, Colton Reed Brown, Ashley Culver, Zelda Stringer and James Brown. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, March 21, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Randy Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Adams-Plank Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 12 noon Monday.

Pall bearers will be family and friends.
