Mr. Simon Eldridge, Jr., 81, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born on April 29, 1935 at Sharkey, Kentucky, a son of the late Simon Eldridge, Sr. and Goldie Hicks Eldridge.
Mr. Eldridge retired, after 31 years of service, as a lineman and back hoe operator for Morehead Utility Plant Board.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to flea markets and fixing and repairing things.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Rogers Eldridge.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Watson Eldridge, two sons, Randy (Sandy) Eldridge of Morehead and Mark (Tena) Eldridge of Elliott County, two daughters, Dana (Brian) Crose of Clearfield and Jennifer Forman of Morehead, two brothers, Ted (Helen) Eldridge and Joe (Betty) Eldridge all of Morehead, one sister, Audra (Marvin) Black of Morehead, five grandchildren, Dustin, Hannah, Hope, Emily and Jacob, two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Amy and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 18, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey.
Visitation is 12:00 Noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Eldridge, Clay Crockett, Dustin Crose, Joel Qualls, Todd Pratt and Phillip Swim.
