Sheila Ruth Lewis

Sheila Ruth Lewis, 70, of Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born on March 7, 1955 in Morehead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Arthur and Madge Moore Lewis.

Sheila was retired from the Rowan County School System, where she had worked as the cafeteria supervisor at Morehead Grade School and McBrayer Elementary School.

She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed reading her bible, talking on the telephone with her sisters, Christmas parties, playing cards, her dog, Lucky and especially spending time with her grandson, Noah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Herman Edward Lewis, Jerry Dale Lewis, Douglas Wayne Lewis, John Paul Lewis and James Chalmer Lewis and three sisters, Darlene Lewis DeWitt, Virginia Mae Moore and Terri Lynn Lewis.

Survivors include her son, Casey Shamel Whitt, her grandson, Noah Gage Whitt, one brother, Dennis Robert Lewis, three sisters, Shirley Evelyn Shay, Judy Kay Cassara (Chuck) and Barbara Ann Kegley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Charles Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ditney Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation is after 2:30 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Casey Whitt, Noah Whitt, John Moore, Travis Wallace, Jordon Pennington and Travis Archer.
