Sandy Clayton

Sandy Gilbert Clayton, 56, of CCC Trail, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born on November 3, 1953 in Munich, Germany, a daughter of Gertrude Kidd Gilbert and the late Merl Gilbert.
Mrs. Clayton was the librarian at West Carter High School. She was a graduate of Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky. Mrs. Clayton enjoyed caring for animals and loved flowers, especially daffodils.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Tom Clayton, who passed away on July 5, 1997.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Phipps, her mother, Gertrude Kidd Gilbert of Morehead, three daughters, Kristen Clayton and Jill Clayton both of Morehead and Katherine Clayton Holbrook of Olive Hill, one brother, Loren Gilbert of Morehead, two grandchildren, Nathaniel Clayton and Kaegan Holbrook and several other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Morehead United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Nettleton officiating.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
