Sandra Fuerst

Sandra Kay Harris Fuerst, 53, of Wallingford, Kentucky passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 at The University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky after a long battle with many health issues. She was born September 19, 1968 in Maysville, Kentucky to Jean Moore Harris and the late William O. Harris.

Sandra was a graduate of Morehead State University, where she majored in social work. She then worked a total of 22 years in the social work field. She was an outdoors person, loved going to the lake to watch the water move or simply just put her feet in the water. She found joy and entertainment by going “bigfoot hunting” with her grandchildren. Sandra also loved to sing, read and tell her grandchildren all about Jesus.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister Amy Lou Harris Kenley, and one brother Gregory Harris.

Beside her mother, she is survived by her daughter LaShonda (Eric) Copher, son Jared Harris (Tessa Smith), 3 brothers; Jeff (Charlotte) Harris, Frank (Shawona) Harris, Richard (Seleslie) Harris. 11 grandchildren: Ashton, Alex, Benjamin, Christopher and Caleb Copher; Shauna McClanahan; Stevee and Autumn Kenley; Jayda, Myla, and Sunny Smith. 1 great granddaughter Oaklynn Copher. As well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including one special lifelong friend, Tina Hogge.

Pallbearers will be Jared Harris, Eric Copher, Ashton Copher, Christopher Copher, Caleb Copher, Jeff Harris, Frank Harris, and Richard Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Copher, Casey Harris and Billy Whitt.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Richard Engle officiating.

Burial will follow in the Prince Cemetery on Maxey Flat.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday.
