Samuel Lee “Sammy” Hall, 80, of Morehead, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at St. Claire HealthCare.
He was born on April 7, 1940 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Woodrow and Rose Coldiron Hall.
Sammy was retired from the Rowan County School System and was a former employee of Day’s Resale Bakery and a former Railroad Worker. He was also a United States Army Veteran.
He was a life-long member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God, where he had served on the Church Board. Sammy was a train enthusiast and he enjoyed farming, the Kentucky Wildcats, going to church and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Wyoma Baldridge Hall, whom he married on November 8, 1978, his son, Samuel Dean Hall and his companion, Leslie Wallace of Morehead, two sisters, Margie (Ray) Elam of Morehead and Grace (Larry) Botts of Lexington, two grandsons, Kenneth Dean Hall and James Woodrow Hall, Leslie’s children, who he loved as grandchildren, Tyler Wallace, Mahala Wallace, Jordan Wallace and Alexis Gilbert and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 19, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Cecil Ison and Rev. Saundra Nathanson officiating.
Burial with full military honors by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126 will be in the Brown Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Coldiron, Dean Vale, Dean Hall, Rick Elam, Charles Akemon, Ray Baldridge, James Woodrow Hall and Ronnie Dillon.
