Mrs. Rosa Snedegar Mathews, 65, of U.S. 60 East, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
She was born on July 5, 1944 in Bath County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William and Stella Fugett Snedegar.
Mrs. Mathews was a homemaker. She was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed collecting teddy bears and angels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Elmer Mathews, who passed away on April 26, 1990, one brother, Charles Snedegar, who passed away on May 27, 2009 and one grandson, William Clifford Burton, who passed away on March 16, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Jackie Mathews of Morehead and William Vernon Mathews of West Liberty, five daughters, Jeanie Brown of Clearfield, Rose Clevenger, Lillie Burton and Crystal Clevenger all of Morehead and Freda Burton of Jackson, three brothers, Johnny Snedegar of Pikeville, Robert Snedegar of Wolfe County and Teddy Snedegar of Lewis County, two sisters, Bonnie Purvis of Mt Sterling and Judy Snedegar of Lexington, twenty-six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, her special companion, her dog, Teddy Bear and best friends, Dorothy Williams and Barbara Gregory.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fraley-Osborne Cemetery. Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be David Clevenger, Roger Wolfenbarger, James Brown, Dwight Houck, Jimmy Burton, William Burton, James Lightfoot and Gene Barker.
