Ronnie Lee Stevens, 68, of Eden Hollow, Morehead, passed away Tuesday morning, March 6, 2018 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born on May 21, 1949 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Stearl and Ruby Thomas Stevens.
Ronnie had served as Jailer and Deputy Jailer for Rowan County. He really enjoyed the twelve years that he worked as a deputy. He was also a talented mechanic and had worked at Eagle Bobtail in Michigan. Ronnie had also worked for the Kentucky Department of Tourism, where his duties included welcoming visitors to the state of Kentucky.
He was the Church of God faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ronnie especially enjoyed talking to his friends on the CB radio, where he was known as “Steamboat”.
Survivors include one son, Brandon (Arlinda) Stevens, one granddaughter, Olivia Stevens and three brothers, Danny (Jan) Stevens, Larry Joe (Vanessa) Stevens and Jeff (Jackie) Stevens all of Morehead and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 9, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Don Rivers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mark Daniel Stevens, Daniel Stevens, Mark Stevens, Leon Hamilton, Coy DeHart, Carlos Burton and Brian Burton.
