Ronnie Carl Buckner, 68, of Morehead, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born on April 7, 1946 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Lloyd and Lola Ison Buckner.
Mr. Buckner was a retired maintenance worker for Lextran and he was a United States Army Veteran.
He enjoyed fishing and baseball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Buckner, four brothers, Burness D. Buckner, Clyde M. Buckner, Tom Buckner and Oveland Ben "Jack" Buckner and two sisters, Oleta Buckner Carroll and Nettie Jean Buckner.
Survivors include two sons, Roscoe Buckner of West Liberty and Brady Johnson of Morehead, two daughters, Lola Carla Buckner of Morehead and Michelle Green of Virginia, one brother, Forrest Ray Buckner of Morehead, three sisters, Eva White and Geneva Brown both of Clearfield and Linda Ginter of Morehead, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends at Life Care Center, including his special friend, Kenny.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Dean and Rev. Paris Ferguson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Buckner Cemetery.
Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.
Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Wayne Ginter, Dewayne Johnson, James Goodpaster, Noah Stidam, Charles Goodpaster, Brady Johnson, Jack Buckner and Doug Buckner.
