Robert ("Bob") Leroy Weaver, Sr.

March 18, 1940 — January 31, 2025

Crain Creek Road (Weaver Hollow)

In the early morning hours of January 31, 2025, as most of us were sleeping, our beloved Dad, Papaw and Brother journeyed from this earth into Heaven.

Robert (Bob) Leroy Weaver, Sr. of Crain Creek Road (more commonly known as Weaver Holler) was the sixth son born to the late Earl and Frances Skaggs Weaver on March 18, 1940.

On October 19, 1957, Bob married Beulah Faye Jones, they were married 62 years, until her passing in July 2020.

Bob was saved by the grace of God in February of 1986. He was a member of the Crain Creek Christian Church and became a member of the Gideon’s International Flemingsburg Camp in 1987 where he served both faithfully until his death.

A 1958 Graduate of Fleming County High School, Bob began his working career in construction with his brother Bill in Columbus Ohio. They eventually started the Weaver Construction business, In 1970 Bob began working for FHA until he had the opportunity to begin his career with The Army Corps of Engineers. During and after his 30+ career with the Corps Bob was proud to have been a part of the cleanup crews of many disasters across our Country including Hurricanes Frederic (1979) and Katrina (2005), the San Francisco Earthquake in 1989, and the devastating ice storms in Eastern Kentucky in 2009, just to name a few. He retired from the Corps in December 2001, then private contracted with them for the next several years on various jobs until he and Beulah decided to fully retire.

Bob loved serving his Lord, either through his Gideon Ministry or singing in the choir. He loved his family and rocking a baby was a highlight to his day. Driving his golf cart up and down the road or to his beloved family park brought him so much joy.

Bob had the kindest heart, the most generous smile and was a giver of time. He loved to share a story, play a game of Yahtzee and teach you how to hold a hammer all the while singing a song that only he knew the words too. He didn’t miss birthdays or anniversaries, and he loved his Sweetie Peach most of all. We know she was right behind Jesus when he entered Heaven.

He is survived by their children Judy Jamison, Lynn and Mike Workman, and Bobby and Donna Weaver.

Their grandchildren Aaron Workman, Brittany & Seth Greenhill, Robert & Keelia Workman, Emily Jamison, Kaitlyn Weaver & Adam David, Rebekah & Nick Mouser, and Elizabeth & Matthew Jenkins.

Their Great Grandchildren Kurtiss, Kadence, RJ, Casen, Harvey, EmmaLynn, Jayde, Liam, Ellie, Mia, Rhett, Liza, Archer, Sawyer, Riley, Lily and Ivy.

He is survived by one brother Earnie Weaver and one sister Virginia Weaver Mann, who was instrumental in caring for Bob the last 16 months. She made it possible for him to remain in his home and continue to do the things that he loved to do, and for that we are abundantly grateful. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Odell (Dellie) Weaver, Loretta Weaver, Kathy Weaver and Rosemary (Weaver) Scott.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, his Gideon Brothers and his loving members of Crain Creek Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by Beulah’s parents Elmer and Jewell Jones, one son-in-law, Woodie Jamison, Archer’s Mommy Maddy, Madaline Nichols, and seven brothers, Earl Jr and Lorraine, Gene and Eva Mae, Ronald, Arnold and Janet, Bill, Estill and Rosie, and Edsell. Also, a sister-in-law, Janet Weaver and brother-in-law, Jim Mann.
