Raymond Kelly Wagoner, 77, of Elliottville, Kentucky, husband of Laverne Wagoner, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.
He was united in marriage for 54 years to his wife, Laverne Fraley on July 4, 1967, and they were blessed with two children, Martha Branham (Dickie) of Hazel Green, Kentucky, and Owen Wagoner of Elliottville, Kentucky. Kelly and Laverne also have two precious granddaughters, which he loved dearly, Megan Little of Elliottville, Kentucky, and Haley Mays (Evan) of Elliottville, Kentucky.
He was born January 11, 1944 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Bennie Wagoner and Iva Lemasters Wagoner.
Kelly retired from Maysville Community Technical College in Rowan County, Kentucky, where he worked for many years and was loved by all of his coworkers and friends there.
He enjoyed attending church, reading the Bible, and sitting on the front porch swing, listening to his favorite gospel and bluegrass music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Herbert Wagoner, John Dee Wagoner, Edward Wagoner, Clyde Wagoner, Glendon Wagoner, Zella Wagoner, Hester Wagoner and Jack Owen Wagoner and three sisters-in-law, Francis Wagoner, Janet Wagoner and Yvonne Wagoner.
In addition to his wife, children and granddaughters, survivors include a step-grandson, Jeffrey Branham, a brother, Denver Wagoner of Elliott County, Kentucky, and a sister, Joyce Catron (Bob) of Elliottville, Kentucky, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Willie Sturgill, Brother Steve Nickels and Brother John Bradley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Mays, Evan Mays, Steve Nickels, John Bradley, Dewayne Johnson and Jason Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed White, Dail Howard, Rob Taylor, Keith Pack, Keith Wagoner, Charles Catron, Robert Catron and Darrell Thomas.
The family requests to please wear a mask to protect yourself and others.
