Raymond "Red" Walker, 72, of Farmers passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born on September 16, 1934 in Floyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Homer Ray and Gertie Delores Stevens Walker.
Mr. Walker was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the United Mine Workers and enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising a garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald Walker, one daughter, Dianna Gore, two brothers, Harold Glen Walker and Bill Walker and one sister, Annette Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Sparkman Walker, whom he married on December 31, 1953, of Farmers, one son, David Walker and his wife, Chelia of Weeksbury, Kentucky, two daughters, Deborah Walker of Farmers and Delanna Caraway and her husband, David of Winslow, Arizona, son-in-law, James Gore of Fairfield, Ohio, one brother, Clifford Walker of South Milford, Indiana, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Barkley Slone officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery at Midland. Visitation is after 7:00 P.M. Monday and anytime Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
