Raymond Bowman, 92, of East Clack Mountain Road, Clearfield, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his home.
He was born on March 5, 1928 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Charlie and Laura Mynhier Bowman.
Raymond was a very hard working strong man who had been a farmer, logger and sawmill worker.
He was a member of the Upper Dry Creek Church of God and attended the Charity Freewill Baptist Church.
Raymond was a member of the Rowan County Sportsman’s Club, where he enjoyed trap shooting. He loved to hunt and fish and he enjoyed raising tobacco, raising a garden and canning.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Brown Bowman, who passed away on December 27, 2006, an infant son, Gary Bowman, four brothers, Alta“Red” Bowman, William “Bill” Bowman, Lilburn Bowman and Edgar Bowman and six sisters, Eula Johnson, Ada Baldridge, Nellie Walters, Corda Baldridge, Betty Baldridge and Lyda Wallace.
Survivors include one son, Ray L. Bowman (Pam) of Clearfield, one daughter, Karen Bowman Wantland (Gary) of Bowling Green, five grandchildren, Gary Bowman (Lisa Flannery), Randy Bowman (Stephanie Dailey), Daniel Riddle (Melissa "Missy"), Michele Hoover (Clark) and Travis Wantland (Jenny), eight great-grandchildren, Tanner Bowman, Austin Riddle, Samantha Whisenant (Dylan), Madison Bowman, Kaden Hoover, Emma Wantland, Emerson Hoover and Mason Davis and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Private family funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 15, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Gayle Price officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bowman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Bowman, Tanner Bowman, Daniel Riddle, David Baldridge and Lanny Ray Baldridge.
