Mr. Randall Dale Zeigler, Age 90 of U.S. 60 West Morehead, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2013 in the Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland, Kentucky after an illness of several weeks.
He was born October 30, 1922 in York, Pennsylvania to the late Deulah Zeigler.
Mr. Zeigler was a well known and respected rock mason in this area for over 50 years and was the author of the book "Seeking My Fortune in Kentucky".
He enjoyed corresponding with "Pen Pals" across the country and always said that "I enjoy taking nothing and making something out of it".
Besides his Mother, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Zeigler, one sister, Katherine Richardson, two half-brothers, Malen LeFever and Ivan LeFever.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Colleen Black Zeigler who he married December 26, 1952.
Three sons; Jerry (Candy) Zeigler of Morehead, Kentucky, Terry (Tammy) Zeigler of Lexington, Kentucky and Harold (Barbara) Zeigler of Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Two daughters, Janet (Michael) Prince of Loris, South Carolina and Kathy Harris and her companion Mike Frost of Ashland, Kentucky.
Three half brothers, Richard LeFever, Lorne LeFever and Sylvan LeFever all of York, Pennsylvania.
16 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his special companion "Sugar".
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.
Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 6:00 P.M. Monday.
Pall Bearers will be Jerry Zeigler, Terry Zeigler, Randy Zeigler, Tony Zeigler, Scott Harris, Josh Harris and Gene Zeigler.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Brian Fortner, Justin Fortner, Christopher Van Fultz and James Dale Fultz.
