Phyllis Jean Skaggs

Mrs. Phyllis Jean Blouir Skaggs, 80, of Elliottville, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Morehead, Kentucky on February 18, 1938, a daughter of the late Pete and Nadine Porter Blouir.

Mrs. Skaggs was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking, flowers and spending time with her family.

She was a member of the Church of God and attended the Morehead First Church of the Nazarene.  She was also a member of the Morehead Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #227.

In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Humphrey Skaggs, Sr., who passed away on April 5, 1988, one daughter, Edith Darlene Skaggs Fields, who passed away on March 5, 2010 and one half-brother, Douglas Blouir.

Survivors include two sons, William H. Skaggs, Jr. (Marcia) of Booneville, Indiana and Clelly Jay Skaggs (Crystal) of Morehead, one daughter, Theresa Komisarcik (Phillip) of Merrillville, Indiana, one half-brother, Michael Blouir (Paulette) of Valparaiso, Indiana, one half-sister, Debra Sullivan of Savannah, Georgia, twelve grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Tim Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in the Williams-Turner Cemetery at Elliottville.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home by Morehead Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #227.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Robbie Skaggs, Jacob Skaggs, Justin Skaggs, Phillip Komisarcik, Dustin Drake, Myles Drake and Randy Pelfrey and nephew, Ike Oakley.
