Pauline Butcher Gentry, 88, of Crestwood, Kentucky formerly of Morehead passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at her residence.
She was born on March 1, 1919 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Allie Jane Holbrook Havens and Allen Butcher, Jr.
Mrs. Gentry was a retired schoolteacher having taught in the Rowan County School System for 27 years and in Texas for 1 year. She attended the Morehead First Church of God, was a member of the Rowan County Retired Teachers and enjoyed knitting and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Havens, her husband, Woodrow Gentry who passed away in 1959 and her son, John David Bach who passed away in 1998.
Survivors include one brother, James A. Butcher and his wife, Janet of Clearfield, one nephew, Stephen Butcher of Upland, California and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 28, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
