Owen Burton

Owen Douglas Burton, 60, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
He was born on October 15, 1954 in Shelby, Ohio, a son of the late Norman Lee Burton, Sr. and Grace Rosanna Dudley Burton.
Owen had been a mechanic for Lying Lee’s Used Cars for 45 years.
He was a member of Slab Camp Christian Church and also a member of the Hayes Crossing-Haldeman Fire Department since 1998.
Owen enjoyed fishing, working on cars and telling stories.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Terry Burton and Roger Allen Burton and one sister, Karen Rosita White.
Survivors include four brothers, Norman Lee (Ruthie) Burton, Jr. of Plymouth, Ohio, Larry Walter Burton (Nancy Lewis) of Morehead, Joseph Dale Burton of Galion, Ohio and Ricky Dean Burton of Morehead, two sisters, Connie Carol (Larry) Messer of Morehead and Ina Kay (Chuck) Russell of Shelby, Ohio and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Christina Ellen Phelps, who was born on his birthday, special niece, Shylee Shade and special nephew, Hunter Layne.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 15, 2015 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Brother Larry Hamm and Brother Ray Glover officiating.
Burial will follow in the Manning Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be members of the Hayes Crossing-Haldeman Fire Department.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Henderson, Dewayne May, Dewayne Layne, Johnny Glover and Dakota Lewis.
