Orville Fraley

April 20, 1931 — August 6, 2008

Mr. Orville Clay Fraley, Age 77 of Mt. Sterling, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

He was born on April 20, 1931 in Bath County. Kentucky to the late Burns and Austa Snedegar Fraley.

Mr. Fraley was retired from the Universal Leaf Tobacco Company and was also a retired farmer. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Fraley was a member of the Countryside Church of Christ and attended the Gateway Christian Church in Mt. Sterling. He was a member and past master of the Phelps Lodge No. 482, the Eastern Star, American Legion and a former member of the Adams County (Ohio) Fair Board.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Jean Fraley.

Survivors include his wife Betty Burns Fraley of Mt. Sterling. One son, James N. (Patricia) Fraley of Peebles, Ohio, one daughter, Stephanie Fraley (George) McCoy of Peebles, Ohio. Two step-sons, Bill (Pam)Dameron of Lebanon, Ohio, Robert Dameron of Morehead. One step-daughter, Marsha (Doug) Hood of Winchester. Kentucky. One brother, James (Becky) Fraley of Owingsville, Kentucky, one sister, Lodema Fraley Jones of Morehead, Kentucky. Four Grandchildren, one Great-Grandchild and six Step-Grandchildren. Also, several other relatives and friends who will miss him too.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Midland First Church of God with Rev. Bush Stevenson and Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Morehead. Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 5:00 P.M. Saturday.

Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Masonic services by the Phelps Lodge No. 482 will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Serving as Pall Bearers will be Danny Fraley, Bernie McGlone, Jim McGlone, Bill McGlone, John Royalty and Doug Hood.

Honorary Bearers will be Zane Alexander, Wilbur Bowlin, Bill Haddix, Phil Russell, Earl James Norris, Mark Dameron, Josh Hood, Nathan Hood and Leslie Christy.

Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504 or the Midland First Church of God.
