Opal Lewis

Opal Lou Moore Lewis, 89, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 in Homer City, Pennsylvania.

She was born on February 8, 1933 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Claude and Nancy Largin Moore.

Opal had been an administrative assistant for an optometrist office in Summerville, South Carolina.

She was a member of the Elliottville Baptist Church and was a true homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Lewis, who passed away on May 26, 2022, three brothers, Earl Moore, Eddie Jay Moore and Cleo Moore and two sisters, Juanetta Moore Morgan and infant, Juanita Moore.

Survivors include one son, Brad (Mary Jo) Lewis of Homer City, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren, Matthew Lewis and Harley (Barry) Fanguy, one brother, Shannon Moore and several other relatives and friends.

Private family services will be conducted with Rev. Willie Sturgill officiating.

Burial will be in the Moore-Messer Cemetery on Christy Creek.

There is no visitation.
