Norma Jean Porter, 75 of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after an illness of several weeks.
She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on May 2, 1945 to the late Rodney and Audra Richardson Porter.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a niece, Stephanie Williams.
Norma was retired form Morehead State University where she had worked in the Adorn Doran University Center. She was a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God and enjoyed reading, gospel music, attending church and talking on the phone with friends.
Survivors include her brother, Clarence Porter and his wife Connie of Morehead. Two nephews; Barry Porter and Travis Porter, one niece Lisa Haney. Great nieces, Grace Porter and Megan (Christian) Stevens and great-nephew Colton Haney. Also, a great-great niece, Aubrey.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday January 31, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Vernon Gross officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her parents in Brown Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 12 Noon Sunday.
Family and friends will serve as pall bearers.
