Norlene Esham

Mrs. Norlene L. Esham, age 82, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 24, 1939 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Jack E. Plank and Maude D. Gulley Plank.

Norlene was of the Christian faith.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also was a cook at Tilden Hogge School for 23 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Beckham M. Esham Jr. and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Sue Taylor and her husband, Willis of Morehead, Kentucky, one son, Mark Allen Esham of Morehead, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Stephany Stone (Dale), Amber Justice (John), and Cody Esham and nine great-grandchildren.  Also, many other family and friends who will greatly miss her.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Butch Kelsey officiating.

Burial will follow in the Jack E. Plank Cemetery on Cranston Road.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dale Stone, John Justice, Waylon Stone, Cody Esham, Willis Taylor, Michael Dehart and Larry Plank.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
