Mitzi Jones

The Lord called one of His angels home. Mitzi G. Bowlin Jones, 47, of New Castle, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital after 13 years of battling breast cancer.

She was born on February 24, 1961 in Muncie, Indiana, a daughter of James W. "Pop" and Cloma Lewis Bowlin.

Mitzi graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1979. She worked in the Pathology Labs in the Muncie area and she loved the Colts football team and the kids at Blue River High School.

Survivors include her husband, Peter Jones of New Castle, one son, Zachary Jones at home, two stepchildren, Joshua Jones and Brent Jones both at home, her parents, James "Pop" and Cloma Bowlin of Springport, Indiana, one brother, Jerry Bowlin and his wife, Connie of Losantville, Indiana, two nephews, her maternal grandfather, Sidney Clay Lewis of Clearfield, Kentucky and her aunt, Janet Butcher of Clearfield, Kentucky.

Funeral services for Mitzi will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Main and Davis Funeral Home - Astor Main Blue River Chapel in New Castle (located midway between Mount Summit and Mooreland) with Reverend Paul Krebbs and Reverend Albert Oren officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Casual dress is requested.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Society or the Zachary Jones College Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
