Mildred Bailey

Mrs. Mildred Evelyn Thomas Bailey, 86, of U. S. 60 East, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in the Life Care Center.

She was born on April 7, 1924 in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Allie and Goldie Williams Thomas.

Mrs. Bailey was retired from Foodtown East as the Deli Manager. She was a member of the Soldier Church of God and enjoyed cooking, canning and raising a garden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Thomas, Billy Thomas, Jimmie Thomas and Hobert (Buck) Thomas and two sisters, Juanita Lyons and Freda Thomas.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles Bailey, whom she married on July 20, 1957, one daughter, Deborah Bailey Patrick and her husband, Jerry of Morehead, three brothers, Bobby Thomas, Gary Thomas and Roger Thomas all of Morehead, four sisters, Ruby Stevens, Kay Hall and Joanne Sturgill all of Morehead and Wilma Stevens McKeown of Hammond, Indiana, one grandson, Todd Patrick and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM. Sunday, April 25, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Brother Don Rivers and Brother Jess Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the New Sill Cemetery. Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be nephews.
