Mary Greenhill

Mary Carolyn Greenhill, 64 of Maxey Flat Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday morning, August 10, 2022, at her home after an extended illness. She was born April 30, 1958, on the Island of Guam to Margaret Letitia Tyler Young and the late Don Young.

Mary was a retired teacher from the Rowan County School System having taught at Clearfield Elementary School the majority of her teaching career. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morehead, a member of S.T.A.R., the Morehead Shrinettes and the Kentucky Education Association.

She was a graduate of Breckinridge Training School and Morehead State University. She enjoyed gardening, dogs, fostering animals and being GranMary to her precious grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Ira "Buck" Greenhill who passed away June 15, 2017, and her daughter, Amilyn Greenhill Bailey.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret Letitia Tyler Young, three sons, Donald Ira (“Tripp”) Greenhill III and his wife, Brianna, J. Tyler Greenhill and his wife, Andrea and Seth Thomas Greenhill and his wife, Brittany all of Morehead, six grandchildren, Justin Harley Delph, Jackson Tyler Greenhill, Addisyn Nicole Bailey, Donald Bran Greenhill IV and Liam Thomas Greenhill and Liza Raine Greenhill. One brother, Don Bruce Young of Morehead, son-in-law Sean Bailey of Louisville, Kentucky. Also, several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, August 13, 2022, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Calvin Lindell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday.

Family and friends will serve as pall bearers.
