Mary Burton

Mary Hanes Brewer Sargent Burton, age 74, of 603 Rawcel St., departed this Earth on Nov. 7, 2009 to join her Heavenly Father and live again with her father & mother, Edgar & Elizabeth Hanes; sisters Pearl, Carolyn, and Margie; and sons Vernon L. Sargent, William D. Brewer, and Michael G. Sargent.

Mary is survived by her brothers Kenneth Hanes, Denvil Hanes, and Billy Hanes; sisters Nelma Riley and Joyce Pennington; son Timothy J. Sargent of Morehead, Ky.; daughters Wanda M. Brewer of Farmers, Ky., Sheldia Jean Bledsoe of Dayton, OH., and Bonita S. Sorters of Ingleside, Texas; Grandchildren Tiffany Williams and Brandon Brewer, Rodney Whitt, Jonathan Whitt, Kimberly Tackett, Jason Bledsoe, Michael Sammons, Andrew Cox, Vanessa Sargent and T.J. Sargent; Great Grandchildren Logan Cox, Codie Tackett, Caleb Tackett, Sarah Whitt and Taylor Whitt; and numerous friends and relatives. Mary was a follower of the Church of God and loved Gospel music. Mary was noted for her artistic ability to make beautiful flower arrangements, arts and crafts, quilt- making, and her ability to always overcome life's upheavals without every complaining. She loved her flowers, and last but not least, her puppy Coco, her very best friend who was her dearest companion 'til the end. Mary always had a smile for everyone and would give everything she had to anyone in need. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Clearfield Cemetery. Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Tim Plank, Rodney Whitt, Jason Bledsoe, Rick Keller, Mike Howard and Chris Duffy.
