Martha Weddington
September 2, 1933 — January 13, 2015
Mrs. Martha Trent Weddington, 81, of Elliott County, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her home.
She was born on September 2, 1933 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Zora and Vada Scaggs Trent.
Mrs. Weddington retired from Cowden's Manufacturing Company.
She was a member of New Home Christian Church.
Mrs. Weddington was known as a good cook and she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, quilting and canning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Beauford Trent, Travis Trent and an infant, J. C. Trent and one sister, Maudie Wallace.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Weddington, whom she married on May 26, 1973, two brothers, Odice Trent of Morehead and Zora Nelson Trent of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, one sister, Darlene Webb of Olive Hill and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 15, 2015 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Weddington-Wilson Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be T. J. Trent, Eugene Trent, Steve Gilliam, David Gilliam, Bill Roe and Dale Weddington.
