Mrs. Martha Betty Bishop Tucker, 92, of Greensboro, Georgia formerly of Morehead, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 in the St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart, Georgia.
She was born on July 12, 1917 in Clark County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Herbert and Beulah Combs Bishop.
Mrs. Tucker was an administrative assistant for General Service Administration in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Transylvania College in Lexington, Kentucky. Mrs. Tucker loved playing bridge, interior decorating and writing. She was a member of the Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta, Georgia, but while living in Greensboro, she attended Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Tucker and siblings, Roxie Betterton, Dorothy Carr Lawrence and Tom Bishop.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Jean Tucker Lundy and her husband, Gene of Greensboro, Georgia, Ellen Ray Tucker Tufts of Greensboro, Georgia and Roxie Dianne Tucker Garrison and her husband, Cliff of Buford, Georgia, a niece, Dr. Donna Gail Carr, six grandchildren, Todd Wood, Jeff Wood, Dale Lundy, Erin Lundy, Thom Tufts and Ray Jean Starnes, nine great-grandchildren, Isabella Tufts, Jessica Wood, Ansley Wood, Kendall Wood, Jeffrey Wood, Gaines Wood, Ellie Lundy, Gatlin Lundy and baby Tufts on the way and several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Lee Cemetery.
