Marie Christian Gulley, 85, of U. S. 60 East passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007 in the Oceanside Hospice in Ormond Beach, Florida after an illness of several weeks.
She was born on March 24, 1922 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Herbert and Mamie Sturgill Christian.
Mrs. Gulley was a retired pastry chef for Morehead State University. She was a member of the Morehead First Church of God, the Progressive Homemaker Club and a Kentucky Colonel. She enjoyed flower gardening and attended the Golden Agers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gulley who passed away on February 13, 1997 and one brother, Claude Christian.
Survivors include one son, Carl Edward Gulley and his wife, Marquetta of Richmond, Virginia, one daughter, Beverly Gulley of Daytona Beach, Florida, four brothers, Verner Christian of Miamisburg, Ohio, Carl Christian of Richmond, Ralph Christian of Jacksboro, Tennessee and Jimmie Christian of Franklin, Ohio, one sister, Berniece Gulley of Morehead, two grandsons, Matthew Kyle Gulley and William Justin Gulley and one great-grandson, Jackson Mills Gulley
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Carl Gulley, Matt Gulley, Billy Gulley, Michael Gulley, Mark Gulley and Rick Waltz and honorary pallbearers will be Progressive Homemakers.
