Luther Franklin "Frank" McDaniel

Luther Franklin “Frank” McDaniel, 82, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at his home.

He was born on June 30, 1942 in Elliottville, Kentucky, a son of the late Arnold Raymond McDaniel and Ann Skaggs McDaniel.

Frank was a retired millwright for General Motors and was a member of the Clearfield Baptist Church.

He enjoyed woodworking, card games, mowing, spending time with his family and his dogs and he was a loyal University of Michigan fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gary McDaniel and two sisters, Betty Catron and Alletha Cornett.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Gomez McDaniel, his son, Frank Raymond McDaniel (Michelle) of Bellevue, Nebraska, his daughter, Sherril Sattler (Jim) of Morehead, his step-son, Duane Chapman of Palm Bay, Florida, his step-daughter, Kelly Trackwell (Jason) of Murfreesboro Tennessee, one brother, Raymond McDaniel (Mary) of Morehead, one sister, Alfreda Mullins of Belleville, Michigan, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Luther Thomack officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Frank McDaniel, Trevor McDaniel, Cody McDaniel, Dylan Randall, Jim Sattler and Robert Waggoner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary McDaniel and Duane Chapman.
