Lucille Kay Brickles Mauk

Lucille Kay Brickles Mauk, 54, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born on June 29, 1970 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lorene Whisman Brickles.

When she was younger, Kay had worked as a waitress at several restaurants. 

She enjoyed watching television, playing card games with her daughters, playing other games with Delma and playing Bingo with her friends at Life Care.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmas Lee Mauk, who passed away on March 15, 2018 and her grandparents, Frank and Mary Ada Whisman.

Survivors include two daughters, Amanda Michelle Holbrook (James) of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Delma Lorene Faye Mauk of Morehead, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Laura Skaggs (Charlie), Marie Littleton (Fred), Colleen Reed, Frank Mauk (Donna), Mary Ann Littleton (Buddy), Kathy Holbrook (Kenneth) and Delphia Plank (Eugene) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2025 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Mauk Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Contributions are suggested to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
