Mrs. Loretta Blankenbeckler Gray, 81, of Cincinnati, Ohio formerly of Rowan County, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 in the Madeira Health Care Center in Cincinnati.
She was born on June 1, 1932 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Glenn and Gertrude Lambert Blankenbeckler.
Mrs. Gray was a true homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and making crafts. She was of the Baptist faith and was known for being a good cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Gray, daughter-in-law, Ruth Gray, son-in-law, Fred Schwartz and three sisters, Berniece Shoap, Katherine Gray and Janet Potts.
Survivors include one son, Tom Gray of Veedersburg, Indiana, three daughters, Nona Kay (Larry) Lawson and Sharolet (Michael) Weitlauf all of Norwood, Ohio and Deborah Schwartz of Newport, Kentucky, six brothers, Radith Blankenbeckler of Covington, Indiana, Leroy Blankenbeckler, Roger Blankenbeckler and Kenny Blankenbeckler all of Veedersburg, Indiana, Ronnie Blankenbeckler of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Johnny Blankenbeckler of Danville, Illinois, two sisters, Veaster Wampler of Wheatfield, Indiana and Linda Brock of Covington, Indiana, eight grandchildren, Travis Gray, Fred Schwartz, Gary Steeley, Bill Schwartz, Melissa Reichle, Michele Haigis, Brian Lawson and Mike Schwartz, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Billy T. Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery in Elliott County.
Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Travis Gray, Brian Lawson, Gary Steeley, Fred Schwartz, Mike Schwartz and Jacob Haigis.
