Mrs. Lorene Stamper Brown, 73, of U.S. 60 West, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at her home.
She was born on May 20, 1936 in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Elsberry and Minnie Lou Porter Stamper.
Mrs. Brown was a private housekeeper. She was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, playing Pick 3 and arts and crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merlen Brown, who passed away in 1993, one son, Russell Jay Brown, who passed away on July 12, 2001 and two brothers, Jr. Stamper and Butch Stamper.
Survivors include two sons, David Brown and his wife, Tammy, who was her caregiver and friend, of Farmers and Robert Brown of Clearfield, one daughter, Kathy Cox and her husband, Don of Olive Hill, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one expected great-granddaughter in December, her beloved dog, Daisy and several, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery in Elliott County. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Porter, Trey Fultz, Eli Fultz, Houston Davenport, Bradley Sparks and Timmy Harris and honorary pallbearers will be Russell Brown II, Mike Hilterbrand and Darrell Wages.
