Lloyd Riddle

Lloyd Junior Riddle, 81 of Hillsboro, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, as a result of a house fire. He was born September 27, 1940, in Hillsboro, Kentucky to the late Ollie McIntyre Riddle and Gladys Farris Riddle.

Mr. Riddle was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam and was a retired farmer and Custom Cattle Hauler. He enjoyed yard sales and drag racing.

He attended the Rodburn Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Lin Riddle and one brother, Richard Harrison Riddle.

Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth (Arthur) Bales, Karin (Junior Cantrell) Riddle and LaCassa (Eddie) Mekelburg all of Hillsboro. One sister, Lorena Pearl Alexander of Hillsboro. The mother of his children, Linda Riddle Conley of Hillsboro.

Eleven grandchildren, Chris Bales, Amanda Bales, Haley Crawford, Audrina Riddle, Ivee Cantrell, Brianna Mekelburg, Trevor Mekelburg, Daniel Mekelburg, Reggie Mekelburg, Carly Daniels and Tony Daniels. Five great-grandchildren, Caleb Bales, Ayden Bowling, Adlee Day, Paislee Mekelburg and Genevieve Workman. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Carl Brewer and Rev. Jared DeAtley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 pm Monday.

Pall bearers will be Junior Cantrell, Arthur Bales, Ashley Alexander, George Lewis, Jack Roe and Paul Conn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Mekelburg Family, C/O U. S. Bank.
