Mrs. Lizzie Carter Lambert, 87, of the Greenbriar Community of Carter County, Kentucky passed away Monday morning, July 16, 2012 in the Life Care Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
She was born in Stark, Kentucky on December 16, 1924, a daughter of the late John Robin and Dovie Lee Scaggs Carter.
Mrs. Lambert was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She was a volunteer at St. Claire Medical Center and enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lowell Lambert, who passed away on September 25, 1999, son-in-law, John Ausmus, four brothers, Clella (Iva) Carter, Oral (Hazel) Carter, Johnie (Martha) Carter and Ezra (Ann) Carter and three sisters, Flossie (Jess) McDaniel, Eliene (Columbus) Cox and Majal Utterback.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte (Donald) Cox of Sideway, Kentucky and Jean Ausmus of Greenbriar, Kentucky, brother-in-law, Calvin Utterback of Clearfield, two step-granddaughters, Carol (Don) Hahn of Connersville, Indiana and Connie (Tony) Jones of Westland, Michigan, one step-grandson, Terry (Angie) Ausmus of Belleville, Michigan, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Austin Carter and Victor Mabry officiating.
Burial will follow in the McDaniel Cemetery at Sideway, Kentucky.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
