Lenia Jennings

Lenia Mae Jennings, 71, of Morehead, passed away Sunday morning, October 23, 2016 at her home after a brief illness.

She was born on February 20, 1945 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Grover and Polly Wallace Jennings.

Lenia had owned and operated A. J. & L. Taxi.

She attended Morehead First Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking and canning.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Clarence Jennings, who passed away on July 18, 2011, a foster daughter, Joanne Brown Litteral and three brothers, Richard Jennings, Larry Jennings and Hobert Jennings.

Survivors include one son, Anthony E. Wallace of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, one daughter, Leona Kay Wallace-Thomas of Elyria, Ohio, one brother, Clarence Jennings of Mansfield, Ohio, five sisters, Virginia McPherron of Bradenton, Florida, Jewell Jennings Gregory of Morehead, Sue Lay of Pine Knot, Kathy McPherron of Lawrenceburg and Stella Shaver of New London, Ohio, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Cecil Ison officiating.

Burial will follow in the Jennings Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Josh Watts, Michael Wallace, Tony Wallace, Zachery Thomas, Leona Kay Wallace-Thomas and Morgan Marie Thomas.
