Mr. Lawrence James Estep, 90, of Willow Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born in Logan County, West Virginia on January 22, 1921, a son of the late Clyde and Carrie Thompson Estep.
Mr. Estep was a retired mechanic for Cowden Manufacturing Company. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member and past master of the Soldier Masonic Lodge No. 708. He enjoyed camping, country and gospel music and Nascar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Caudill Estep, who passed away on September 25, 2002 and three sisters, Mildred Fannin, Sylvia Farr and Edith Shephard.
Survivors include his son, Lawrence Estep, Jr. and his wife, Johnda of Morehead, two sisters, Allene Maschke of Paris, Kentucky and Ruth Estep of Alvin, Texas and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating.
Burial with full military rites by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Friday.
Masonic services by the Soldier Masonic Lodge No. 708 will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Mark Rambacher, Larry Rambacher, Tommy Ballinger, Drew Henderson, Tom Glasscock and Jim Reneau.
