Laura Lewis

Mrs. Laura Virginia Ramey Lewis, 83, of Elliottville, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at St. Claire Healthcare.

She was born on October 18, 1935 in Orton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Frank Henry Ramey and Armenie Ramey.

Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker, who loved having family and friends around, especially her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of the Charity Free Will Baptist Church and she enjoyed attending church functions, working puzzle books, Bluegrass Music and Bingo and she loved flowers and decorating.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lencil Eugene “Bud” Lewis, who passed away on August 18, 1998, one daughter, Linda Laverne Cosby, who passed away on September 1, 2016, her daughter-in-law, Tonia Benae Conn Lewis, who passed away on May 2, 2012 and three sisters, Martha Page, Katherine Patton and Opal Crose.

Survivors include one son, Donald Eugene Lewis of Elliottville, one daughter, Pamela Jo Manns (Mackie) of Ligonier, Indiana, two sisters, Violet Hager of West Virginia and Hildreth Curtsinger of Morehead, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, her caregiver, Hayley Klaiber and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Rob Kidd officiating.

Burial will follow in the Williams-Turner Cemetery at Elliottville.

Visitation is after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Michael R. Gray Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
