Kris Lipps

Kris Louise Ward Lipps, 56, of Sugar Land, Texas passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at her home.

She was born on May 20, 1964 in Morehead, Kentucky the daughter of the late Donald Madison Ward and Grace Louise McClurg Ward.

Kris was raised in the hills of Kentucky. It was there in her heart she felt truly at home. When she was thirteen her family moved to Texas where she later met her high school sweetheart, James Lipps. They were married September 23, 1983. That began their thirty-eight year marriage. Kris also enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her beloved family.

Including her parents she was preceded in death by one sister Donna Sue Ward.

Survivors include her husband James Charles Lipps, one daughter, Elizabeth Dawn Lipps (Nathan) and one son, Jacob Lipps both of Sugar Land, Texas, three brothers, Donald Timothy Ward of Morehead, John Michael Ward of Florida and Steven Hayes Ward of Needville, Texas, one sister, Teresa Ann Ward of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Grace Lorraine Gallagher, Katie Antoinette Contello, Bella Frances Contello and Eviea Annalise Contello. Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, March 21, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Siloam Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is from 5 – 8 PM Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Ward, Danny Ray McClurg, Nathan Contello, Donald Timothy Ward, John Michael Ward and Steven Hayes Ward.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Lipps.

Contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
