Kenneth Russell Porter, 98, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
He was born on March 2, 1926 in Vale, Kentucky, a son of the late James R. and Alice Ina Parker Porter.
Kenny was retired from Morehead State University and was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II.
He was a member of the Lakeview Community Church and he enjoyed motorcycles, flowers and raising a garden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Hogan, one brother, Glennis Porter and two sisters, Maxine Porter and Christine Boyd.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Louise Day Porter, two sons, Ronnie Porter (Pat) of Morehead and Anthony Keith Porter (Michelle) of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, two sisters, Virginia Kay Boyd and Velma Roe both of Ypsilanti, Michigan, two granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several other extended family.
Graveside services and entombment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Morehead with Pastor Eddie Dennison officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post 126.
There is no visitation.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home at 808 Old Flemingsburg Road in Morehead is caring for all arrangements for Kenneth Russell Porter.
