Kathleen Tirey

Kathleen Smith Tirey, 93, of Morehead, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Life Care Center.

She was born on April 9, 1927 in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Russell and Jewell Franklin Smith.

Mrs. Tirey was a retired waitress and a member of the Church of God.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, puzzles and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert “Bill” Tirey, who passed away on January 30, 2006, four brothers, Charles R. Smith, James Dana Smith, John Edward Smith and Kenneth Ray Smith and one sister, Lenora Smith.

Survivors include one brother, Vernon Smith of Sarasota, Florida, one sister, Judy Turner of Indianapolis, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Brown Cemetery with Pastor Andy Lands officiating.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
