Joyce Ison

Joyce Carol Ison, 69, of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the St. Claire Healthcare in Morehead.

She was born August 24, 1953 in Isonville, Kentucky to the late Derie Ison and Delpha Gilliam Ison.

Joyce was a member of the Holly Fork Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Truman Ison, Curmel Ison, and Willie Ison. Six sisters; Gladys Caudill, Tricey Edge, Dottie Griffith, Bertie Faye Terry, Cloma Justice and Nancy Ison.

Survivors include one son; Eugene Smith of Michigan, one daughter; Rhonda Smith of Morehead, four brothers; Everett Ison of Isonville, Kentucky, Billy Gene Ison of Springfield Ohio, Lura Dale Ison of Isonville, Kentucky, and Jack Ison of West Liberty, Kentucky.  Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday January 13, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead, with Brother Monroe Craig officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ison Cemetery in Isonville.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M until the hour of service.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.
