Joseph H. "Joe" Rice, 64, of Morehead, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
He was born on June 20, 1949 in Bath County, Kentucky, a son of the late Joe and Thelma Delores Pergram Rice.
Joe was a retired heavy equipment operator and United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Salt Lick Freewill Baptist Church and he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include one son, Randy (Janie) Rice of Morehead, two daughters, Melissa (Justin) Bailey of Menifee County and Jolene (Nick) Brown of Morehead, one brother, Steve Rice of Morehead, two sisters, Sandy (Denvil) Pennington and Jan (John) Smedley all of Morehead, nine grandchildren, J. T. Rice, Anna Rice, Bubby Rice, Lakeisha Thompson, Cheyenne Thompson, Raeanna Bailey, Grant Bailey, Jocee McCarty and Chloe Riley and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Lands and Victor Mabry officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rice Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Pennington, Roger Messer, David Lands, David Watson, Justin Bailey and Mickey Slone.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Anderson, Jason Anderson, Paul DeHart and Ralph Webb.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.
