James "Jim" Moore

James Cecil “Jim” Moore, 80, of Opossum Ridge Road, West Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

He was born on January 15, 1938 in Michigan, a son of the late Ora and Lucy Emma Sexton Moore.

Mr. Moore was a retired truck driver having worked for Ken-Mor Stone and he was a farmer and a construction worker.

Jim was of the Freewill Baptist faith and was a former member of the Soldier Masonic Lodge.

He was an avid outdoors man, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on guns, doing reloads and making gun stocks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Thomas Moore, who passed away on October 24, 2013 and two brothers, Donald Moore and Billy Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Murphy Moore, one son, Raymond Daniel Moore of West Liberty, three daughters, Donna Lynn Sargent (Tony) of West Liberty, Kelia Ann Day (Richard) of Owingsville and Jamie Leigh Moore of West Liberty, one brother, Bobby Moore (Linda) of Springtown, Texas, eleven grandchildren, Chris Sargent, Stephanie Sargent, Tony Sargent, Jr., Jesse Day, Joe Day, Tanya Day, Desirae Moore, Lucy Ann Moore, Isaac Moore, Trinity Moore and Conner Moore, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating.

Special family memories and remembrances will be shared by Tanya Day.

Burial will follow in the Day Cemetery in Morgan County.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Sargent, Jesse Day, Joe Day, Tony Sargent, Jr., Mitchell Collins, Dwight Perkins, Jackie Cagle and Jimmy Cagle.
