Mr. Jack C. L. Smith, 77, of Burton Branch, Morehead, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

He was born on August 23, 1932 in Haldeman, Kentucky, a son of the late Marion Anderson Smith and Ada Susan Lands Smith Blevins.

Mr. Smith was a retired truck driver for the Ford Motor Company. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during Korea and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist Faith and a very active member of the Ashlar Masonic Lodge No. 91 in Detroit, Michigan and the Wayne County Coon Hunters Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and pitching horseshoes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, William R. Blevins, six brothers, Bill Smith, Robert "Toodle" Smith, J. Albert Blevins, Junior Blevins, Oather L. Blevins and Hilton Blevins and two sisters, Mary Evelyn Smith Clark and Jalaina Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Faye Sanders Smith, whom he married on August 13, 1958, two daughters, Pam (Faron) Henderson of Olive Hill and Patty (Bruce) Terrio of Hartland, Michigan, one brother, Charles Blevins of South Rockwood, Michigan, one sister, Marian Hunt of Garden City, Michigan, four grandsons, Nathan Ryver, J. J. Ryver, Michael Terrio and David Terrio, one great-granddaughter, Tatum Faye Ryver and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 25, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. David Keeton and Rev. Andy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in the Fultz Cemetery on Christy Creek. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday by the Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654.

Pallbearers will be Michael Terrio, Jonathan Smith, Jay Vinson, Randy Mayle, Jim Young, Donald Brado, David Blevins and Nathan Ryver.
