Mr. J. D. "Bud" Whiteley, 79, of Poplar Hollow Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his home.
He was born on August 8, 1934 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, a son of the late Arthur and Jewell Flint Whiteley.
Mr. Whiteley was retired from Keysor Century Corporation in California and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran having served during Korea.
He attended Holly Fork Freewill Baptist Church and he enjoyed Nascar Racing, working puzzle books, tinkering in his garage and caring for his yard.
Survivors include his wife, Ithel Louise Logan Whiteley, two sons, Ricky Dale (Merly) Whiteley of Orlando, Florida and Randy David (Beatrice) Whiteley of Apple Valley, California, three daughters, Ruth Delene West of Canyon Country, California, Barbara Harper of Morehead and Lorrie (Danny) Simmons of Clearfield, thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Brother Ray Glover officiating.
Burial will follow in the Masters Cemetery.
Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers will be Rick Whiteley, Randy Whiteley, Mark Harper, Justin Whiteley, John Smith and Kyle Gray.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Friday.
