Mr. Homer Goodman, 75, of Crix Ridge Road, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 26, 1934 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Russell and Liddie Cox Goodman.
Mr. Goodman was a retired truck driver and foreman for the Rowan County Road Department and a former deputy sheriff. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Goodman enjoyed fishing and riding and showing horses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Goodman, Billy Goodman, Hendrix Goodman and Ronnie Goodman and one sister, Frances Dillon.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Eldridge Goodman, whom he married on December 13, 1957, two daughters, Debbie Goodman Moore and her husband, William of Ashland and Amanda Goodman of Morehead, two brothers, Delmar Goodman and Richard Goodman both of Morehead, one sister, Esther Riddle of Clearfield and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM. Saturday, October 24, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Gary Blevins and Paul Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Crix Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday and anytime Friday. Special church services will be conducted Friday evening with Curt Seagraves and Jr. Adkins officiating.
Pallbearers will be Dickie Goodman, Willie Goodman, Ronnie Goodman, Donald Goodman, Larry Goodman, Paul Goodman and Eric Goodman.
